...long time ago!!

Sometimes you feel like you had something in your stomach. It’s possible that you are nervous for some exam or something else that scared you a little bit. But today is not this case. I’m really happy. Why? I don’t know exactly. It could be because the summer will come soon, but there is something more important and special for me. In two weeks I’ll be 18 years old!!!
Today I’m remembering all these things that I lived during these “17’9999” years.

I went to Pare Coll School since I was 2 years old, until I was 16. I became bladybug, penguin, dolphin and giraffe during P-2, P-3, P-4 and P-5. It was fantastic. Almost every week it was the birthday of someone in the class so all together went to Festa Park to celebrate it. Also I remember that until P-4 there was a boy who was loved for all the girls. He was my “boyfriend” and I was much higher than him. When I think about it, I don’t avoid laughing.
His mother and mine were really friends so we spend a lot of time together: I did artistic gymnastics with him and years later I did ballet and funky with him too.
One day, when P-4 ended, he got angry and said with a loud voice that he fed up with all the girls. His fame between the girls was finished when the next year a new boy came to our class and replaced him as “the most handsome”. (I put it between commas, we were child and now I understand why I have to wear glasses).
Two years ago, when with my group of friends remember our anecdotes, one of us explained a story about this boy: One day, during the break, he with another boy and a girl were behind a house that was in the playground. He left and went to say to the teacher that they were kissing and why they didn’t want to kiss him.
Every time I hear this story I can’t stop to laugh!!

At the age of 5 I started the primary in the same school. During all these years before to start ESO I had different teachers and all of them had the same reaction when heard my surname: “Cortada”. I have an older brother. And I don’t know how exactly explain it but … he was allergic to the books, you know what I mean. And he wasn’t happy enough with not doing homework; he always got angry all the teachers. For this reason, every time I started a new year and the teacher heard my surname, looked at me with a suspicious glance.
However, when they realized that I was very shy and that I never annoyed anybody, they were really happy with me, or at least I thought it was like.
Another curious anecdote took part in the 2nd of Primary: I broke my leg or it would be better to say that from the sky rained a boy who fell on my leg and it was broken. It was “Caramelles” Day. After we had sung, we were playing the trapped, girls against boys, as we always did in that time. We trapped all the boys except one who was on the top of the slide. All the girls were around the slide but there was a side where there weren’t anybody. I decided to go there. And just when I went there he jumped. I tried to stand up but when I support my right foot on the floor I had a sensation that I’ve never had. It was as if I had a ball inside my leg and it went up and down. It was a really strange sensation.

These are only some anecdotes that I lived but I think that there are too many lines to read and it isn’t my intention to make fall asleep all these who read this text.

On 5th May I’ll be 18! And it represents that I’ll be responsible enough to live alone next year and take my decisions on my own. For now I have to give all my best in my final exams if I want to go at the Barcelona University to study a medicine degree and have that student’s life that everybody talks about.

(In this photo appears the famous love in my childhood and it was taken in a ballet class)

(This photo was taken in Festa Park and it was my fifth or sixth birthdy)

Saint George's Day

23rd April, Saint George’s Day. The custom of this day in Catalonia is: the boy gives a rose to his love and the girl gives him a book. We celebrate it because it comes from a legend: “The Saint George and the dragon”.

It’s said that there was a village where an evil dragon lived. Every day the village people had to give some of their cattle and harvest because the dragon was very hungry.
When the food had finished, nobody had anything to give. They had to overcome the person who would be delivered and used by dragon as its food.
It was the princess. Between tears and disappointments the princess went to dragon’s cave but suddenly a handsome knight appeared ridding his white horse and in a blink of an eye the princess was on his horse and the dragon had died. And the most surprised and wonderful was that from the blood of dragon was growing up fantastic red roses...

This story sounds a little bit old and absurdity why don’t we make little changes? Nowadays this story would be completely different, so it would be better if we forgot these fairy tales and we were more realistic, so while I’m writing I will have to use all my imagination that I usually have too hidden.
There was a little town, Lepe (where all these wrong things happened, or don’t you hear any joke about there and its inhabitants). People were really scared because a strange creature, called crisis, lived there (an economic state that had dressed up as strange creature and had the same control over the population as the dragon had in the other tale. Both were the greatest fear for townspeople). Crisis drove people to poverty and hunger. But the time had passed and there were fewer inhabitants who could live in good conditions. Lepe was living in the worst time of its history. One day, one of the members of the council proposed to make elections to solve their problem and finish with that “evil” creature.
The next day a white Porsche came to town and in a blink of an eye the new mayor was accommodated perfectly in his room. The mayor faced against the crisis and from the “home” of creature appeared a huge amount of money. (What could make happier people than money? In the other story the red rose meant the happiness for killed the dragon, nowadays although we tended to believe ourselves that the money aren’t important, they are). Everyone thought that everything had been solved but the mayor recollected all money in a big bag and in a blink of an eye again, he left. The mayor was living perfectly without any problem and Lepe was the poorest town in the world.
And maybe it’d be more wonderful if we lived in these fairy tales.

Yesterday it was Saint George. It was a strange day because many people were on holidays, so on morning I was walking in Vic with him and he gave me the rose and I gave him a t-shirt because he isn’t a lover of the books.  After the lunch my family and I went to La Seu d’Urgell to visit my grandmother and we will come back on Monday.

LITERATURE COMPETITION

Somedays before we had to give a prose or a poem because every year we celebrate Saint George. To write something acceptable is not too much easy.
I can write 5000 words of prose without stress or strain, but when I sit to write a poem, my brain become frost.A story flows from my head, like a river. Poetry is too much  technical but simplicity is the key.
In my opinion, rhyming words is hard to do but we don't lose anything to prove it. I sometimes think that I'd like to return in my childhood when we also had to do it a poem but in that time everything was acceptable. And when I remembered it, everybody talked about the same subject: friendship, weather stations, our routines...
It was too easy that I won two times during my primary school ;)
Finally I could add that a poem should sing it'd be better that it's done it by singers.
For this reason I upload a song:

:)

People have a favourite sport. I know that maybe it could sound a little strange this beginning of my writing but I’d like to talk and show how much is important the volleyball for me. Volleyball isn’t only a sport.
Firstly, I can’t say that I’ve played volleyball since my childhood because I was older, 14. I started to play because…I don’t know exactly why I started to play it. Now I could say that it was one of my best choices in my life. Okey, okey…I know that it sounds like a grandmother or maybe it seems that I’m exaggerated but I’m not.
During these years I’ve learned to play volleyball, of course, but especially in these two last years I’ve learned something else. My coach gave me all these advices to solve problems in a volleyball match but also in my life.
Moreover, I think that have a good team is essential. I’ve had different teams. When I started to play everybody was older than me so every year there was some people who left the team to go to Barcelona or Girona to study a degree.
This year is my last year in Jaume Callís team and I know that I’ll miss them. I could say that is one of the best teams I’ve had.

I love my team and I love playing so I hope that although I’m going to study to Barcelona, I’d like to play in some volleyball team!

Goodbye 2010... HELLO 2011

At Christmas time, when you’re a child only think how many presents El Tió and The Three Wise Men give you.  Probably that child innocence makes that all of us remembered Christmas as the most magical period of the year.
But as you grow up you learn the Christmas secrets. Almost children between 6 and 7 years old know that all the presents are bought by their parents. I’m sure that most of you felt sad when you discovered the truth about El Tió and The Three Wise Men. And it could be worse if your older brother tell you the secret when you were too young.
Another secrets or it’s better to say detail about Christmas is when we realize that another year will finish. Then we get nostalgic and remember each and every one of the moments that we lived with the people around us. Although we sometimes lived bad experiences, we want to live another year with all these people who are important for us.

This 2010 I lived unforgettable moments. I met wonderful people:  people who surprise me, who make me laugh and maybe who make me cry. However all of them made special 2010.
I thank you to share a little part of your 2010 with me and ask you to continue this new year as part of me.

For a moment live Christmas as you lived years ago ;)

MALDITA NEREA

Although we are at Christmas time, today I’m going to talk about Maldita Nerea concert.
I went there on 1st of December with two friends. It was fantastic but not only the concert; we also lived different anecdotes to remember.
We arrived in Barcelona at 4 o ‘clock more or less. The concert started at 9 o’clock in Club Sant Jordi, so we had time to go anywhere before. We visited University of Barcelona (normally called UB) because I hope to go there next year to study medicine degree.
Then we decided to go to Club Sant Jordi by bus and it was when almost everything we did started to go wrong.
Firstly we didn’t have the ticket and we missed the first bus: we went to metro station to buy it and came back to stop bus and we waited another bus. Moreover we almost didn’t stop in the correct bus stop.
We had thought that people didn’t go there so early but they went. Finally we could arrive in Club Sant Jordi after a large cue and we bought a Maldita Nerea t-shirt. The concert was really fantastic.
More or less, at 12 o ‘clock we were running out the Club Sant Jordi to catch the night bus but when we arrived there it was full. We had to leave walking and we didn’t know which way we had to follow.

It was fantastic but a little bit ridiculous. However it’ll make me remember for ever this concert.

LAST CHANCE TO SEE THE WORLD

Last weekend my aunt explained me an amazing true story that herself lived in her job. When I heart it I thought I had to explain you and show the luck that all of them have.
My aunt works as a swim coach for blind children so now you can guess the plot of the story, don’t you? It’s about a blind child who had had sight before.  My aunt knew him, David, when he wasn’t blind.
One day my aunt went to David’s home and he was in his bedroom looking photos. He said to her that he was doing that to remember forever every moment he had lived because the doctor had told him that he would be blind by the end of the year.
His parents decided to sell their business and give him the greatest gift they could: to let their son see the world. They travelled around the world to make happy his son.
Now he’s blind but he had the opportunity to see the world
When I heart this story I realized that we usually worry about things that haven’t really importance. We have to live day a day giving value all these things that we normally miss.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_R21siXin4 Last Wednesday I went to Maldita Nerea concert. It was fantastic (:
*Maldita Nerea is a Spanish group of music but I’ll talk about it another day.
